Chicago noise punks Meat Wave release the driving new single 'What Would You Like Me To Do' in the lead up to their new album Malign Hex. Their first new record in five years the band have attempted a more considered and drawn-out approach, slowly working and reworking the tracks since late 2019 (as opposed to previous the previous record that was recorded and mixed in four days) allowing the band to "embellish more and take more chances with extra instrumentation.” However new single 'What Would You Like Me To Do' shows that in switching up the method they have lost none of the raw and urgent intensity that defines them, a cacophony of pounding drums, a relentless guttural bass-line and grinding guitars that never drop in energy. The idea for the video started as an instructional dance routine by Ryan. It quickly morphed into something more freaky and free. The video is years in the making. Directed by myself. We usually try to avoid being in the video. But this time was different. We had a lot of fun doing it."
